Undergraduate student, Fisheries, Wildlife, and Conservation Sciences, Oregon State University

As of summer 2026, Rhian Taylor Welch is going into their second year at Oregon State University for Fisheries, Wildlife, and Conservation Science with a minor in chemistry. This summer they will assist in oyster husbandry and quantify a suite of proteins and metabolites in oysters that may predict farm success. Rhian has a strong career interest in marine research and coastal habitat restoration related to climate change. When they are not in school or working, Rhian likes to garden, play volleyball, and be at the coast.
